The VCARB team has officially announced the end of cooperation with Australian Daniel Ricciardo

The VCARB team has officially announced the release of Daniel Ricciardo. He will be replaced by New Zealander Liam Lawson for the last six races of the season, the team's website reports.

Riccardo was part of Formula 1 since 2011 and was one of the most popular drivers on the grid. The best period in the career of the Australian came during his time in Red Bull Racing (2014-2018), and in total Daniel has eight wins, 32 podiums and 1329 points in 258 Grand Prix.

Last year, the driver returned to Formula 1 as part of AlphaTauri and remained in the team for the 2024 season. Riccardo has scored points five times this year and currently sits 14th in the individual standings, 10 points behind team-mate Yuki Tsunoda. However, the Australian's race form has not convinced the Red Bull family to keep him.

Last weekend's Singapore Grand Prix was Riccardo's last race in 2024. It is still unclear what the future holds for Daniel, but he is unlikely to get a place in one of the teams next season.
