Bayer won the German championship by defeating Werder Bremen in front of its own fans.

Boniface and Xhaka scored a goal each for Xabi Alonso's team, plus Florian Wirtz scored a hat-trick. After Bayer's fifth goal, the fans ran onto the pitch to celebrate the first championship in Bayer's history, and the referee decided to blow the final whistle without waiting for the end of added time.

Note that Leverkusen remains unbeaten in the 2023/24 season. Bayer lost its last match back in May 2023.
