Barcelona are 10 points behind Real Madrid

Barcelona head coach Xavi said confirmed during today's press conference that he would leave at the end of the season.

Today the Catalans lost at home in the La Liga match, conceding five goals from Villarreal. After this defeat, Barcelona ranks fourth in the Spanish Championship, 10 points behind Real Madrid.

"On June 30, I will leave the club," Xavi said. "This is a decision I have already discussed with the president and the staff. Barça needs to change direction. I think my decision will help the dynamics of the club change, but I still think that we can have a very good season. I have to think about the club first and foremost."

We would like to add that Xavi’s current contract with Barcelona expires in 2025.
