Dmytro Chyhrynskyi is back to Shakhtar

36-year-old defender Dmytro Chyhrynskyi moves to Shakhtar as a free agent. The agreement with the player lasts until June 30, 2024.

Chyhrynskyi is a graduate of Shakhtar Academy, for which he played from the age of 15. He debuted for the first team on June 19, 2004, in the Ukrainian League match against Metalurh Zaporizhzhia. He played a total of 189 matches and scored 16 goals for Shakhtar. Together with the Miners he won 14 trophies: 7 Ukrainian League titles (2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014), 4 Ukrainian Cups (2004, 2008, 2012, 2013), 2 Ukrainian Super Cups (2009, 2014) and the UEFA Cup (2009).

He also played for Metalurh Zaporizhzhia (18 matches, 2 goals), Spanish Barcelona (14 matches, the winners of the La Liga (2010) and the FIFA Club World Cup), Dnipro (23 matches, 1 goal), Greek AEK (126 matches, 5 goals, the Champions of Greece – 2018) and Ionikos (53 matches, 2 goals). Since 2007, he has played 29 matches for Ukraine national team.
