Max Verstappen held onto victory in 2022 Dutch Grand Prix amid a strong showing from the Mercedes and late Safety Car drama at Zandvoort.

The main rivals of the Dutchman today were the Mercedes team drivers George Russell and Lewis Hamilton, looking for victory with one pit stop strategy. However, the plans of the "silver arrows" were ruined at the end of the race with the appearance of the Safety Car. Mercedes decided to take a gamble by sending only Russell for another tire change, hoping that Lewis could keep Max behind. But this plan did not work - Verstappen regained 1st place, as Hamilton was left without a podium, finish only 4th after getting passed by Charles Leclerc.
