Shakhtar Director of Football Darijo Srna in an interview with ProFootball Digital spoke about the controversy surrounding the invitation of Croatian coach Igor Jovićević to the Donetsk team.

“It was our club's decision. This is the coach that suits us with his style. He showed in Dnipro-1, Karpaty and Dynamo Zagreb that he deserves to be Shakhtar's coach.

Сontroversy? We couldn't "steal" anyone because Jovicevic's contract with Dnipro-1 ended on June 30th. This is the only truth. Therefore, we are calm about the whole situation.

What can Jovićević give the current Shakhtar? It will be difficult for Jovicevic because a new team is being built. We have a young team, we need time and patience, but Shakhtar will be where it deserves to be," said Srna.
