Arteta: The way they’ve been training has been phenomenal

Arsenal finished the first leg of our USA Tour with a well-deserved 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday, and after the game Mikel Arteta said the players have been just as impressive during training so far in pre-season.

“The development has been really good,” the manager said after the game.

“Honestly, the way they’ve been training has been phenomenal - the best since I’ve been here. The togetherness around the group, the quality that they’ve shown, the intensity in how they train. They are different standards.”

He added that the change of location and the energy of our American supporter-base has been having a big impact on the players.

“They feed (off it). We have had that around the training ground, and around the hotel.

“So thank you so much, it’s been a really good camp so far. We are leaving tomorrow for Orlando, so I think the boys will have a good memory about this trip.”
