Rob Page blames the game against Ukraine on Wales poor results in Nations League

Rob Page, Wales manager, commented on his team losing the game against Netherlands after a late goal.

“I feel the same as I did after Poland. We gave ourselves a great opportunity to get a point but we showed a bit of naivety, and the players will learn form that. I'm really proud of the players to put in that level of performance against a very strong Dutch team.

We had a plan in place. I wanted to give Gareth Bale some minutes and we were able to do that. This game, and the Poland game, have been influenced by the final on Sunday. We've got two or three knocks but we have to get on with it. We haven't got the luxury of changing all eleven players like Holland did tonight.

Rhys Norrington-Davies was exceptional tonight. He's got great energy and he scored a great goal. These Nations League games are all about preparation now for the World Cup. We have to look at our squad and use it as a beneficial exercise for that.”
