Arsenal - Burnley 1:0

Arsenal took another massive step towards winning the Premier League title after a tense 1-0 victory over Burnley at the Emirates Stadium, keeping the pressure firmly on Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.

For weeks, rivals and neutrals hoping for an Arsenal collapse have waited for signs of nerves from Mikel Arteta’s side. Those hopes remain unanswered. The North London club once again showed resilience, discipline and the mentality of genuine champions as they edged closer to a first league crown in 22 years.

Monday night’s contest followed a familiar pattern for the league leaders. With the finish line now in sight, tension could be felt across the Emirates. Despite facing a Burnley side without a win in 27 consecutive matches, Arsenal struggled to fully impose themselves during the opening stages.

The hosts nearly broke the deadlock in the 14th minute when Leandro Trossard rattled the post after a sharp attacking move. But as has often been the case this season, the breakthrough eventually arrived from a set-piece situation — one of Arsenal’s most devastating weapons under Mikel Arteta.

In the 36th minute, Bukayo Saka delivered a dangerous corner from the right flank and Kai Havertz rose highest inside the box, powering a clinical header beyond the goalkeeper to send the Emirates crowd into celebration.

There would be no second goal and no late flourish, but that hardly mattered to the home supporters. The result marked Arsenal’s eighth 1-0 victory of the Premier League season — further evidence of a team capable of grinding out results under immense pressure.

Attention now turns to Manchester City’s clash with Bournemouth. Any slip from Pep Guardiola’s side could officially hand Arsenal the title. If not, the dramatic Premier League race will go down to the final weekend.
