Atletico Madrid - Real 5:2

Atlético Madrid produced a stunning performance at the Metropolitano Stadium to dismantle arch-rivals Real Madrid in a 5–2 victory — a match already being called the best game of the 2025/26 La Liga season so far.

In a chaotic and action-packed first half, both sides found the net twice. Robin Le Normand opened the scoring for Atlético in the 14th minute, but Kylian Mbappé and Arda Güler struck back to put Real Madrid ahead. However, the hosts levelled just before half-time, with Alexander Sørloth heading home from a well-delivered cross to make it 2–2 at the break.

The second half belonged entirely to Atlético. Julián Álvarez turned the game on its head, first converting a penalty and then curling in a sensational free-kick in the 63rd minute to give his side a two-goal cushion.

In stoppage time, Antoine Griezmann — who hadn’t scored in weeks — sealed the win with a calm one-on-one finish, sending the Metropolitano into raptures and securing a statement win for Diego Simeone’s side.
