Mainz - Borussia M 1:1

The eighth round of the Bundesliga started with a 1-1 draw between Mainz and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The hosts were good in the first half, creating several chances, but they were nullified by Nicholas' saves. He might have made a clean sheet if Lainer had not sent the ball into his own net on the 55th minute.

Gladbach's response was immediate - two minutes later, Kleindienst restored the balance after a cross from the right wing. Borussia could have won the game, but now it was Centner who showed his skill in the Mainz goal - 1:1.
